Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

RiverHawks fall to Hillcats 2-0

TAHLEQUAH -- The Northeastern State Men's Soccer team lost a GAC matchup to Rogers State on Friday night at DeLoache Field. 

Northeastern State (5-4-0, 3-2-0) was tied with the Hillcats (6-2-1, 3-2-0) at halftime, but Rogers State pulled away in the second half. Their first goal came in the 66th minute off the foot of Michael Turner, while Jake Simpson scored eight minutes later to put the match out of reach. 

The RiverHawks outshot the Hillcats 13-12, and also recorded nine shots on goal compared to six from Rogers State. 

Ben Watson led the RiverHawks with four shots, two of which were on goal. Flynn Semmerling had two shots, both of which were on goal. Justin Hinman made three saves for NSU in net.

The RiverHawks will be back in action on Thurs., Oct. 10 when they host Ouachita Baptist. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at DeLoache Field.
