TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks Men's Soccer team picked up a 5-3 win on Thursday night over the Harding Bison in a rare match inside Doc Wadley Stadium. The win gives the RiverHawks a 10-7 record, with an 8-5 mark in conference action. The Bison fall to 6-6-2, with a 7-4-1 record in conference matches.
The RiverHawks struck in the 10th minute when
James Doyle took a pass from
Ben Watson and put it in the back of the net. The Bison responded just five minutes later when Ross White did it all himself to score his first goal of the season. The RiverHawks picked up a pair of goals before halftime, as
Flynn Semmerling scored in the 22nd minute and
Scott Adams scored in the 41st minute to take a 3-1 lead into the half.
The Bison came alive in the second half, as Andre Cunha scored in the 57th minute before Christian Ramos scored his 17th of the season in the 65th minute to tie the match. NSU needed just two minutes for
Tom Singhgolden to score and give NSU a one-goal lead.Â
The RiverHawks picked up an insurance goal in the 84th minute when
Sam Scarth took a corner kick and played the ball into the box, where
Jameson Biles was waiting to score his second goal of the season and clinch the victory for the RiverHawks.
Semmerling recorded five shots on goal, with
Aaron Ugbah having two shots on goal.
Justin Hinman played 87 minutes in net, making four saves. NSU outshot the Bison 13-8 in the first half.
The RiverHawks will wrap up the regular season on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Arkadelphia, Ark. to face the Ouachita Baptist Tigers.Â
