Three RiverHawks named CoSIDA Academic All-District

TAHLEQUAH – Three members of the Northeastern State Men's Soccer team were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Thursday. Defender Ben Watson, Midfielder Ryan McCully, and Forward Flynn Semmerling represented the RiverHawks on the District 7 First Team.

Watson scored five goals in 16 matches for the RiverHawks and played a team-high 1,453 minutes. The senior has landed five goals and was credited with two assists.  

McCully started all 16 matches this year for NSU and was second behind Watson with 1434 minutes played.

Semmerling paced NSU with nine goals this season and has three game-winning shots in 16 starts. 

Since 2013, NSU has had 13 named as CoSIDA All-District.

Nominating and Voting for this award is done by the District's Sports Information Directors.

The three will be on the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot. Academic All-American honorees will be announced in early December.
