CLAREMORE, Okla. -l-- Northeastern State's Wes O'Neill collected two hits and Dustin Berrong fanned six in a 10-2 loss to Rogers State at the Diamond Sports Complex here Thursday.

The RiverHawks struggles on the mound continued against the Hillcats.  Berrong held RSU scoreless through two innings, allowing just two hits and struck out three.

Rogers State would tag Berrong and the RiverHawks for three runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to capture a 5-0 lead after four innings of play.

Northeastern State rallied back in the fifth inning, a leadoff double by Brad Chronister and an Alex Massie walk had runners on base.  Blake Freeman's single and an RSU error plated two runs cutting the deficit to 5-2.

The Hillcats extended the lead in the fifth plating three runs and added two more in the eighth inning to capture a 10-2 victory.

NSU was held to seven hits on the day.  O'Neil led the way with two hits including a double, Zach Henderson and Chronister doubled.  Jaxon Phipps and Reid Fehr each singled.

 Berrong lasted four and two-thirds innings allowing nine hits issued four walks and struck out six on the day.

NSU falls to 1-7 on the year, while RSU improves to 6-2.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday, this time at Rousey Field on the campus of Northeastern State.  The first pitch for the doubleheader is set for 11:30 a.m.
