NSU falls twice in Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Northeastern State went winless in their final day in the Sunshine State, falling 4-1 to #8 West Florida, and later 5-2 to #14 West Alabama on Wednesday afternoon. 

#43 Mayra Jovic was the lone NSU player to crank out a win in the opening matching beating UWF's Valeria Mantilla, 6-1, 6-2 in twos.  

In the nightcap, the RiverHawks' lone points came from its top two singles spots.   Jovic handled West Alabama's Sarah Marnseri 6-1, 6-2 to go to 24-0 in her regular season career.  #68 Tatjana Stoll won on the main singles court 6-1, 6-1 for her fourth straight win. 

Northeastern State's skid has hit five in a row and they will drop to 2-6 this season. 

The RiverHawks will return to MIAA this weekend where they will visit Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney.
