MAGNOLIA, Ark. – #17 Northeastern State came up short in their first contest in ten days falling 4-3 at Southern Arkansas on Monday afternoon.
The RiverHawks go to 2-2 this season after coming ahead 4-3 in its last two matches.
Southern Arkansas (10-2) who is in their first season of competition since 2011-12 pushed its win streak to six.
An SAU doubles point came back to haunt the RiverHawks in the afternoon where both teams split single courts.
Northeastern State won in its top-three singles courts, while Southern Arkansas won in the bottom three.
Tatjana Stoll cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win on the top singles court on her birthday.
Mayra Jovic took a three-set win in two-singles (7-5, 1-6, 7-5), and
Kristela Vidnere took a 6-1, 6-1 decision in three-singles.
The RiverHawks will be off until Saturday where they will face Rockhurst in Kansas City, Mo.
