RiverHawks Men's Soccer to open home schedule Wednesday

TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks Men's Soccer team will open their home schedule on Wednesday evening against Midwestern State before facing Oklahoma Christian on the road Saturday night.

First Touches
1. NSU is 1-1 this season after beating Missouri S&T and falling to Drury over the weekend. Against S&T, Aaron Ugbah, Ameer Madden and Matthew Corness picked up goals.
2. The last time that NSU faced Midwestern State they lost 1-0 and trail the all-time series 7-29-2.  Against Oklahoma Christian,  the RiverHawks are 14-12-1 in the all-time series, and won 4-3 in last season's meeting.  NSU trailed 3-nil into the 11th minute the last time they faced OC.  
3. Midwestern State is 2-0 this season with wins over Dixie State (Utah) and Colorado State-Pueblo. Carlos Flores, Hikaruhito Melke and Adam Conway each have goals for the Mustangs while Taylor Lampe has played all 180 minutes in net, allowing just one goal. Michael Meachum is in his second season as head coach.
4. Oklahoma Christian is 2-0 this season after beating Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist, both in one-goal matches. Thomas van der Meulen leads the Eagles with two goals while D'Waylan McIntosh has one goal. Anthony Trabichet has played both games in net, allowing just one goal while making 13 saves.David Scott is in his 14th season as head coach of the Eagles.
5. NSU Head Coach Rob Czlonka is in his ninth season as head coach of the RiverHawks. NSU has known a lot of success under Czlonka, having qualified four times for the NCAA Tournament, including two trips to the NCAA Elite 8 (2015, 2017) and two trips to the NCAA Sweet 16 (2014, 2018). 

Up Next: NSU will open GAC play on Sept. 19 when they travel to Hays, Kansas to face Fort Hays State. They will also face Newman on the road on Sept. 21.
