RiverHawks set shots record in 3-0 win over SNU

TAHLEQUAH — The RiverHawks cruised to their third straight win on Thursday afternoon beating Southern Nazarene 3-0 in dominating fashion. 
 
NSU set a 22-year record with 45 shots, besting a mark by one that was set in Oct. 1997 against Central Oklahoma.
 
Northeastern State limited the Crimson Storm (1-2) to one shot in the first half while launching 24 on their side of the pitch.  By the end of the contest, NSU launched 22 attacks at the Crimson Storm keeper.
 
Mariah Nicolet landed her third goal of the season in the 13th minute, connecting on a pass from Callie Rucker. The pair traded places ten minutes later with Rucker finding the open net.
 
Maranda Ritter added to NSU's lead in the 73rd minute for her first career goal. 
 
NSU's defense limited the Crimson Storm to six total shots and two shots-on-goal.
 
Brennan Hockett and Ainsley Cunningham shared the shutout for the RiverHawks,
 
The RiverHawks improve to 3-0 this season and will return to host Harding on Saturday at 7 p.m.
