TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks Women's Soccer team lost a nonconference matchup to Central Oklahoma 2-1 on Friday night. It was the first loss of the season for the RiverHawks, who are now 4-1 on the season.
NSU scored the first goal of the match in the 16th minute when
Hannah Stettler took a deflection off the keeper and put it in the back of the net for her first goal of the season. That was the score at the half, but the Bronchos (4-0-1) scored two goals in the first four minutes of the second half, and held that lead for the remainder of the period.
Emily Seiler and
Mariah Nicolet both had two shots on goal to lead the RiverHawks.
Sarah Rector, Stettler and
Myka Heimbach also recorded shots on goal for NSU.
Brennan Hockett played 76 minutes in net, recording five saves.Â
NSU will wrap up nonconference play on Sunday afternoon when they face Rogers State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.Â
