#22 RiverHawks best S&T 3-1 on the road

ROLLA, Mo. -- Northeastern State picked up goals from Ameer Madden, Matthew Corness and Aaron Ugbah to pick up its first victory of the 2019 season with a 3-1 victory over Missouri S&T at Allgood-Bailey Stadium here Sunday.

The RiverHawks earned its first victory of the year and picked up its first win over the Miners in Rolla since 1987.

Ugbah connected on the first NSU goal of the season and game just 16 minutes in the match for a 1-0 lead.  Tom Singhgolden was credited with the assist.

Madden, a freshman picked up his first goal in a RiverHawks uniform nine minutes later for a 2-0 advantage. Ugbah picked up the assist.

The Miners scored midway through the second half cutting the NSU lead in half at 2-1.  

Corness, a freshman shut the door with 40 seconds remaining in the game with his first career goal giving the RiverHawks a 3-1 victory.  James Doyle picked up the assist.

Northeastern State will make its home debut on Wednesday, September 11, as #14 Midwestern State will visit Daloache Field.  Game time is set for 6:00 pm.
