Records: Northeastern State 6-8, 1-1 MIAA, Northwest Missouri 6-10 1-1 MIAA

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was slow early, as neither team could get any runs across, despite both teams getting good chances. The Bearcats would break through in the bottom of the third, scoring four runs on four hits to take the lead.

NSU responded in a big way in the top of the fifth, scoring four of their own. It started when Reid Fehr reached on a bunt single and Collin Klingensmith drew a walk. They both moved up 90 feet on a wild pitch, setting up Jaxon Phipps to get an RBI when he grounded out. Blake Freeman then stepped up to the plate and singled up the middle to score Klingensmith, cutting the lead in half.

The RiverHawks weren't done, as Chaz Orr got in on the act, hitting a double to left field to score Freeman all the way from first base. After the Bearcats made a pitching change, Wes O'Neill doubled, allowing Orr to score and making it a tie game.

Northwest Missouri re-took the lead in the bottom of the inning when Jordan Peck doubled to bring in a pair of runs and give the Bearcats a 6-4 lead. Cohen Bell was able to get Ryan Koski to ground out to third base to end the inning.

The Bearcats would pile on in the seventh, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take home the win.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Freeman went 2-4 on the game to extend his hit streak to 25 games. The last game he went hitless was April 5, 2019 against Pittsburg State.
