EDMOND – Cat Rodman had a two-RBI game as NSU edged rivals Central Oklahoma in their MIAA opener on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After three scoreless innings, Cat Rodman hit the second pitch she saw through the left side to score Madeline McIntyre in from third.
Central made a pitching change in the fifth, and the RiverHawks did damage with Hannah Ailey hitting a 1-1 pitch to left to score Sierra Crick in. Following a pop-up, Rodman doubled down the left field line for NSU's third run.
The 'Chos threatened in the sixth with two-outs and a runner on second. A double plated one and an error scored the second run.
NSU starter Gail Young retired the final seven Central batters to get the team a win in the opener.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sierra Crick pushed her reached base streak to 16 games.
- Young tossed her 56th complete game, and it is her 43rd career win.
- Ailey had a two-hit game in her fourth start of the season.
- The win halted a four-game skid to Central.
