The RiverHawks would kick things into gear in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs on two hits, all of which came with two outs. It started when
Nic Swanson singled into right-center field. Hight then stepped up to the plate and blasted his second home run of the season to bring NSU to within two. The RiverHawks would then get runners to first and second, but the inning would end without any more runs.
After allowing Pitt State to score an insurance run in the top of the eighth, NSU came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth looking to pull off the comeback.
