What has been your favorite moment as a student-athlete at Northeastern State?Â
- My favorite moment as a student-athlete at Northeastern State cannot be determined by just one. Some personal favorites would be hitting my first college home run, earning a scholarship, sharing victories and bonding with my teammates, and seeing the look on Coach Davis'Â face when I showed the entire locker room what the whale looked like.Â
What has been your most meaningful experience outside of athletics?Â
- I would say that the most meaningful experience outside of athletics would be meeting my lifelong friends. I have no clue what I would have done without any of them. From the four years of me attending NSU, I have had the best support system.Â
Who was/is your favorite professor at Northeastern State, and why?Â
- My favorite professor at Northeastern State was Dr. Kirk. I took Psychology Statistics with Dr. Kirk and he made learning so fun. He also loved helping his students and wanted them to succeed in his class.
Do you have plans for post-graduation yet? If so, what are they?Â
- My plans for post-graduation are still undecided, but I plan to take a year off from school to gain experience in my line of work for getting into a counseling master's program.Â
What advice would you give to younger athletes about their time at Northeastern State?Â
- I would advise younger athletes to work hard and have fun. Sometimes as athletes, we focus too much on trying to not mess up and I'm here to tell you that it's okay to mess up. It's what athletes do after they mess up, that really matters. Don't make the same mistake twice and lean on your teammates to help you. The absolute best advice I can give is to be the best teammate you can be. Learn your role on the team and wait for your opportunity to shine. Lastly, don't doubt yourself. You were picked to be a college athlete for a reason, keep your head held high because you got this.Â
Is there anything you want to add?Â
- I would just like to thank Northeastern State for being my home for four amazing years. To my softball family, thank you to my former and current coaches and teammates for always pushing me to be better and for never giving up on me. Softball has been my passion and life for the past 18 years, and I'm thankful for everyone who has been a part of this journey with me.Â
