TULSA — Oral Roberts landed two goals in the first 22 minutes and the RiverHawks could not make up the gap Friday evening in a friendly falling 2-1 to the Golden Eagles.
The contest was the first action for either team this academic year.
Evans Wiggle scored Northeastern State's lone goal as they mustered five shots with three on-goal.
Flynn Semmerling and
Blake Dumond had one on-goal shot each.
Lucca Rodriguez put ORU on the board at the 5:53 mark and Josselyn Patel found the back of the net midway through the half at the 21:07 mark. Juan Arias assisted on both goals.
At the 67:50 mark,
Evans Wiggle scored unassisted for the RiverHawks. With four minutes left, NSU had an opportunity for an equalizer on their fourth corner of the half but they could not deliver another goal.
Transfer goalkeeper
Brett Ekperuoh recorded four saves in his debut. Oral Roberts had 11 shots compared to Northeastern State's five for the match.
The next match on NSU's schedule is the Great American Conference opener on Feb. 21 at Harding with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
