TAHLEQUAH -- Fort Hays State caught a break with a goal in the 53rd minute and shut out the RiverHawks, 1-0, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon.
Northeastern State's offense doubled the Tigers on shots taken 12-to-5 and had seven corners, to FHSU's one.
Payton Leib led the RiverHawks with five shots,
Callie Rucker and
Myka Heimbach both and three.
Ainsley Cunningham had three saves at goal, with
Kamari Jefferson,
Hayley Garcia, and
Livy Wagner all playing the full time.
Fort Hays State improves to 6-7-3 (3-6-0 MIAA) with the win.
The RiverHawks (7-6-3, 4-4-1 MIAA) will be on the road for the final week of the regular season and will head to Rogers State on Friday, Oct. 29, for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
