TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State closes out its regular-season home slate with Rogers State making a short trek from Claremore. The RiverHawks will be honoring its lone senior, Blake Dumond, before the match.
The RiverHawks (8-7, 6-3 GAC/MIAA) won their first two matches to open GAC/MIAA play with shutout wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist. In the GAC/MIAA standings, the top four are separated by three points, with Southern Nazarene being the lone team to clinch a postseason berth. A win over Rogers State would vault NSU to a tie with SNU for the top spot in the standings. However, SNU would hold the tiebreaker winning the two regular-season contests.
Northeastern State has seven shoutouts on the season with Brett Ekperuoh being named the most recent Goalkeeper of the Week. Jason Rivera is tied with two others for the league-high with six goals, and Sam Scarth is second with five assists.
History with the Hillcats
Flynn Semmerling scored the lone goal in Northeastern State's first meeting with Rogers State in Claremore. The RiverHawks trail the overall series 5-3-1, with the two teams meeting in the post-season during the last two seasons.
