TAHLEQUAH -- A late goal by Fort Hays State in the final three minutes broke a scoreless contest and handed Northeastern State a 1-0 loss Thursday afternoon.
The loss drops the RiverHawks to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in GAC/MIAA play.
Fort Hays State (6-3-1, 3-1-1 GAC/MIAA) had a 15-to-11 shot advantage over the RiverHawks with corner kicks even at seven.
The lone goal came with 2:27 left in regulation. In the 84th minute, NSU missed an opportunity to take the lead on a
Flynn Semmerling kick that hit the crossbar.
Northeastern State remains at home and will host Newman this Saturday at 1 p.m.
