TOPEKA, Kan. --
Payton Lieb scored her third goal of the season as the RiverHawks played to a 1-1 draw at Washburn Friday evening.
The RiverHawks have now finished three contests this season in draws, and they go to 4-4-3 overall (1-2-1 MIAA)
Washburn broke a scoreless game on a PK opportunity in the 65th minute. The RiverHawks found an equalizer in the 78th minute with
Callie Rucker hitting a cross pass to Lieb, who was just in front of the Ichabod net.
Washburn (5-3-2, 1-2-1 MIAA) had a slight 12-to-11 shot advantage over NSU and held a 6-2 advantage in corners.
In her second start,
Melanie Rice had a career-high eight saves at the goal. The assist from Rucker was her fourth of the season.
Northeastern State returns to action Sunday to face Emporia State at 2 p.m.
