HAYS, Kan. -- Northeastern State's offense came up empty as Fort Hays State had a pair of second-half goals to come away with a 2-0 victory.
The win by the Tigers over NSU and a Southern Nazarene win at Newman will put the RiverHawks locked in as the number-4 seed in the upcoming GAC/MIAA Tournament.Â
Fort Hays State broke the scoreless contest in the 59th minute scoring from just inside the top of the box. They would score for the second time in the 74th minute.
The Tigers (12-4-2, 9-2-1 GAC/MIAA) out-shot the RiverHawks 13-to-9. Northeastern State had a 5-to-5 edge in corners.Â
Flynn Semmerling,
Sam Scarth, and
Jason Rivera all had two shots for the NSU offense.Â
The RiverHawks (8-9, 6-5 GAC/MIAA) close out the regular season at Newman on Saturday at 2 p.m.
