RiverHawks fall to Bison, 5-2

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Errors by Northeastern State proved costly on Sunday evening as they fell 5-2 to Oklahoma Baptist in the Edmond Regional Softball Festival.   The RiverHawks allowed three unearned runs to cross home, and their offense was limited to one hit until Carly Kelley broke the shoutout with an RBI single in the fifth.  Rhomie Bradshaw added the team's second run with a double in the seventh.

The RiverHawks would get the potential go-ahead run at the plate with one out in the seventh after loading the bases.  NSU would not chip further into the Oklahoma Baptist lead.

OBU scored two runs in the second and fourth inning; then their fifth run was unearned off a single in the fifth.

Gail Young (2-1) spun four-innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs.  Sydney Balderrama came in out of the bullpen to record the final six outs.

Northeastern State falls to 2-2 overall with the loss, while Oklahoma Baptist improves to 2-0.

The RiverHawks will return to OC's turf to face Colorado Christian Monday at 12:30 p.m. and wrap up the trip with East Central at 5:30 p.m., that game will be played at Central Oklahoma.
