OKLAHOMA CITY -- Northeastern State softball did its scoring damage early in the game yet a three-run Colorado Christian home run in the bottom of the third gave the Cougars a lead they would not surrender. The RiverHawks dropped their second-straight at the Edmond Regional Softball Festival by a final of 5-2.
Transfer Jenna Chassie got her first start of the season and threw 4.0 innings allowing just four hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The RiverHawks came to the plate ready to do damage and loaded the bases in the first. Carly Kelley hit a hard grounder to the Colorado Christian shortstop that she knocked down to score Cameron Conrad for the first run of the game.
With two outs in the third Chloe Bohuslavicky hit a high fly down the left field line that cleared the fence to give the RiverHawks a 2-0 advantage.
Colorado Christian responded, however, with a home run of their own in its half of the third with two on. Once the Cougars were in front they allowed just two NSU hits the rest of the way.
In the fourth, the RiverHawks had two runners in scoring position following a Rhomie Bradshaw double to left yet they would not reach home.
The Cougars would score again in the fifth after reaching an error, stealing second, and coming around on a single to right field. They also tacked on a run in the sixth.
