TAHLEQUAH – Softball pitched its first shutout of the season and the combination of
Jenna Chassie and
Chloe Bohuslavicky allowed just two hits in a 11-0 win over Tabor Saturday afternoon to close the NSU/Cherokee Nation Festival.
Â
The RiverHawks had 14 hits in the game and every eligible position player got on the field. Bohuslavicky and
Addie Elbon each had three hits in the five-inning victory.
Â
NSU scored three runs in the first inning on back-to-back singles to lead off bottom half. Bohuslavicky had a single and
Alyssia Crick doubled to the left field corner to take control.
Â
Megan Green led off the second with a triple to center that got under the fielders glove before the RiverHawks drew two-straight walks. Bohuslavicky, promptly, smacked her fourth home run of the season to left center to bring the lead to 7-0.
Â
Green, the nine-hole hitter, again led off the inning in the third this time with a single to center.
Rhomie Bradshaw followed it by lining a home run over the left field wall for two more runs. NSU head coach
Clay Davis then began to substitute his freshmen with the bases loaded following a Bohuslavicky single to left.
Â
NSU moves to 6-4 with the win and will host Drury for a doubleheader Saturday March 6 before welcoming Missouri S&T for two on Sunday.
