Opening tip
• NSU is 1-7 in road contests this season while Washburn is 3-4 on its open court. The RiverHawks are 3-4 this season on Saturday's.
• The meeting in Topeka is one of six MIAA contests Saturday.
• Northeastern State has three players who score in double figures; Collins (17.8), Hayes (14.8), Sanchez (10.9). It also has two players who pull down five or more rebounds in Collins (6.7) and Hayes (6.3).
• The Ichabods will make the trip to Tahlequah Tuesday to makeup the game originally scheduled for Jan. 2. It will be the first time the women's program has played the same team in back-to-back fashion since beating Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 3 and Feb. 6 of 2010.
• Northeastern State allows ten more points per game than Washburn. NSU, however, scores 7.0 more points per game on the road. • Both teams play strong team offense combining for nearly 27 assists per game.
• If the game comes down to fouling, Hayes (87.8) and Bentley (91.8) each rank in the top-four of the conference in free throw shooting.
• Washburn does not allow outside fans at its contests other than immediate family members due to COVID-19.

Looking back
• Northeastern State tied the program record with 15 made 3-pointers but fell at Emporia State 86-75 on Thursday evening.
• Northeastern State shot 50.9 percent for the game and 53.6 percent from deep but allowed 20 points off turnovers. It had 21 assists on 29 made baskets.
• The RiverHawks shot 72.7 percent in the first quarter, the best this season.
• Cenia Hayes led with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists. She tied her career-high with five made 3-pointers. Kiarra Brooks made all four of her 3-point attempts.
• The Lady Hornets held NSU scoreless for 3:23 of the third quarter to pull out to a 15 point lead that they held onto.

The series with Washburn
• Northeastern State has dropped the last 3 games of the meetings.
• The RiverHawks last won in Topeka Jan. 1, 2018. Every three years NSU has won at Washburn. A win today would keep the trend intact.
• The teams first met in March 13, 2010.
• As a head coach at NSU, Fala Bullock is 1-3 vs. the Ichabods.

Ichabod notes
• Are led by Hunter Bentley with 15.7 points per game which is eighth in the MIAA. Naria Barrientos scores 11.1 points and pulls down 8.6 rebounds per game. Each play nearly the entire game.
• Only has four upperclassmen and returned one starters from the 2019-20 team.
• Have fallen in back-to-back contests to the other two Oklahoma MIAA members.
• Scores 62.0 points per game but holds opponents to 60.5.
• Hold a +5.0 rebound margin and block 3.5 shots a game. Ranks third in MIAA with 38.8 rebounds per game.

Milestone watch
• Shae Sanchez is 26 points from 500 points for her NSU career. Maegan Lee is nine rebounds from 200.

Taking care of the ball
• The RiverHawks rank 22nd nationally in turnovers per game with 13.5. It's the fewest since 2016-17 (13.0). NSU is fifth in the MIAA. They rank 24th nationally with 13.3 assists per game and are also fifth in the conference.

Undersized? Big heart
Sophomore Zaria Collins has cemented herself on the top of opposing team scouting reports this season. She averages 17.8 points shooting 46.5 from the field and 6.1 rebounds. Collins stands 5-foot 9-inches, but goes to battle in the paint and as a result, leads the MIAA with 3.3 offensive rebounds per game, it's 46th nationally. In the three games she missed NSU is 0-3. She also ranks second in the MIAA playing 37.4 minutes per game which is sixth of all forwards nationally.
