SEARCY, Ark. -- Northeastern State jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first half but needed double overtime to grab a 3-2 victory at Harding Wednesday afternoon.

Ryan McCully tallied the first two goals via headers from corner kicks for the RiverHawks while
Ameer Madden scored in the 106th minute for the win.

McCully got his first opportunity to go through the lower center in the 11th minute off a pass from
Sam Scarth. His second goal of the season came in the 23rd minute but this time he knocked it through the lower right corner.

Scarth, with the two assists, now had four on the RiverHawks' six goals this season. It was the junior McCully's first goal since his freshman season.

Harding scored once in the first half and scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute of play. It would take 44 minutes for NSU to win it in thrilling fashion

Following a pass from
Luis Soler, Madden dribbled through the Harding defense on the left side and put a left footer through the lower right corner for the win. Madden, who played 36 minutes, had a shot on goal prior in the 103rd minute.

The RiverHawks outpaced the Bison by in corner kicks (12) and shots on goal (6)

NSU goaltender Niklas Kirchoff made three saves in net.

With the win NSU moves to 2-1 in GAC play while Harding falls to 0-2.
