TYLER, Texas -- Northeastern State fell 7-0 to top-ranked Tyler Junior College Wednesday to close out their mid-week stop south of the Red River.
The loss is the second consecutive for the RiverHawks, who fall to 2-4 overall. Â
Tyler JC took control of the match early and won each doubles court by at-least a four-game margin.Â
In singles play, the RiverHawks were swept on court four and won on the main court before clinching the match win on 2s.Â
The bottom half of NSU's singles team played tighter matches with Tyler JC.
Vera Carvalho fell 6-3, 6-4 on court five, and
Belinda Jayaprakash took her first set to an extra game but lost 7-5, 6-2 on court six.
The Apaches downed three NCAA Division II teams this year and one Division I program to move to 6-1 on the season.
Northeastern State remains on the road and will face Cameron in Lawton this Saturday morning.
