EMPORIA, Kan. -- Northeastern State women's tennis continued their winning ways on the road downing Emporia State 5-2 Sunday. The RiverHawks swept doubles and won the bottom four singles courts.

With the fourth-straight MIAA road win, NSU moves to 8-6 (4-2 in MIAA).

The RiverHawks got off to a good start and swept all three doubles courts for the fourth time this season. Due to injuries, they had to do so playing different pairings on all three flights.Â

Kristela Vidnere clinched the doubles point on the top flight 6-2. Â

In singles, NSU won the bottom four courts. Playing just the third time this spring freshman
Sofia Lundgren clinched the victory with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 win in the No. 5 flight. Classmate
Belinda Jayaprakash took her match, the No. 4, to three sets as well and won 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
"We were undermanned and had a couple people out with injuries, but we battled," head coach
Tim McLane said.
Emporia State falls to 5-5 and 0-4 in the conference. The Hornets were swept by UCO most recently.

Northeastern State will return home to host #4 Central Oklahoma this upcoming Saturday for their second to last regular season match.
