TAHLEQUAH -- All of NSU's runs came off the long ball as they fell 5-2 to #24 Rogers State Saturday in the first of two games at RiverHawks Park.
The loss drops the RiverHawks to 20-14-1 and 8-8-1 in the MIAA.
Addy Wolfe gave the RiverHawks an early lead with a line-drive homer that just cleared the left-field fence for her fourth homer of the season. The lead was short-lived, and the Hillcats scored a run on a single up the middle, and then the go-ahead run on a sac fly to right.
Rhomie Bradshaw tied the game in the third with her ninth homer of the season, clearing the dead centerfield fence. The Hillcats would re-take the lead in the fourth with a two-out single to left, scoring a runner in from third. After a pair of scoreless innings, Rogers State got a couple of insurance runs on a liner to right field.
Northeastern State was limited to four hits in the contest.
Gail Young (13-5) spun her 17th complete game of the season as the Hillcats will improve to 23-11-1 and 11-6 in the MIAA.
