TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State outhit Fort Hays State 14-4 in Game 2 of the Friday doubleheader to win its sixth-straight MIAA series. NSU won the contest 8-4.

Reid Fehr each had three hit games. Fehr drove in four runs for the RiverHawks.
Blake Freeman tied his own program record pushing his hit streak to 26 games with an opposite field single to left in the fifth.

Nic Swanson continued his dominance on the mound for the RiverHawks by throwing 7.0 innings of three-hit ball while striking out 11. He did not allow a run and lowered his ERA to 0.79.

Northeastern State scored one run apiece in the first and second inning to jump out early. In the second inning, NSU had three-straight singles including two that remained in the infield. After a bases loaded lineout that resulted in a double play Fehr singled in
Jaxon Phipps.

Four-straight NSU batters reached with one out in the fourth and Fehr drove in his second and third runs of the game with an infield single in the frame.

Freeman singled to lead off the fifth and run the FHSU starter before stealing second. White then hit a sharp single up the middle before scoring on Fehr's single to left.

The Tigers scored four runs in the eighth as relievers
Jon Moll and
Cal Howard lost the strike zone. Â After a Moll strikeout those two combined to walk four batters and hit two.

Blaze Brothers single in the eighth extended his reached-base streak to 20 games and he came around to score on a sharp
Collin Klingensmith single to center after swiping a bag.

Northeastern State pushed their record to 15-6, 12-5 in the MIAA with the win and Fort Hays State fell to 2-19, 2-15 in MIAA play.
