Crick's six RBI game pushes NSU to 9-7 win at Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Alyssia Crick hit two homers and had six RBI as the RiverHawks edged Central Missouri 9-7 in the first game of a doubleheader.

The RiverHawks led as many as six runs in the ballgame, with Central Missouri managing to get the winning run at the plate in the seventh.

Central Missouri (15-8, 4-3 MIAA) out-hit the RiverHawks 16-to-10 as Northeastern State moves to 17-10 overall and 5-4 in the MIAA.

After giving up a pair of runs in the first, NSU used the long ball on the Jennies.  Megan Green homered in the third, and Crick hit a 2-1 pitch to left-center in the fourth to plate three runs to take a 4-2 lead.

In the fifth, Green scored the RiverHawks' fifth run on a passed ball.  Chloe Bohuslavicky extended the NSU lead to four with a full-count single to left, scoring Rhomie Bradshaw from third on the play.  Crick added two more runs in to give NSU an 8-2 lead with a double.

The Jennies grabbed a run back in the bottom half of the fifth with a two-out single and plated three more runs in the sixth.  Central Missouri would manage to load the bases with one out, but they would line into a double play to leave the RiverHawks with an 8-6 lead.

Crick hit her second homer in the seventh before the Jennies threatened again in the bottom half of the frame getting two hits and scoring one more.

Gail Young (12-4) spun seven innings and recorded three strikeouts.
