TAHLEQUAH – The RiverHawks fell 6-1 after a strong showing in doubles to #19 Washburn Saturday afternoon at the NSU Tennis Complex.

NSU dropped a close battle via the tiebreaker on No. 3 of doubles after splitting the top two courts. The top duo of
Chiara Carnelutti and
Kristela Vidnere won their match 6-4.

Melissa Vera took the No. 4 singles court in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 for NSU's lone point of the day. Reigning ITA Player of the Week
Maria Popova took her match to the tiebreaker at the No. 2 flight but fell 4-6, 6-4, 10-4.

With the setback, Northeastern State falls to 6-6 (2-2 in MIAA) and Washburn moves to 10-1 (3-1 in MIAA).

The RiverHawks will head back out on the road this coming Saturday and Sunday to play at Newman and Emporia State.
