LUBBOCK, Texas -- A third goal in the UC-Colorado Springs in the 65th minute was enough to hand Northeastern State a 3-2 setback Saturday evening.
The RiverHawks (2-4) outshot the Mountain Lions 12-to-7, with
Luan Lamas and
Jason Rivera scoring NSU goals.
UC-Colorado Springs (3-1-1) scored a penalty kick goal in the 43rd minute and came out of the second half scoring in the 48th minute to go up 2-0.
Rivera scored for NSU in the 61st minute, but they couldn't find an equalizer before UCCS scored in the 65th minute to make it out of reach for the RiverHawks.
Lamas scored in the 82nd minute for his second goal of the season.
Northeastern State returns home Thursday to open GAC/MIAA play with Harding at 6 p.m.
