CLAREMORE – Rogers State scored pair of second-half goals to hand Northeastern State a tough 2-1 road setback Saturday evening.
Martin Martinez had a goal for his second consecutive match and third of the season as the RiverHawks slipped to 7-4-2 (4-3-1 GAC/MIAA).
The Hillcats found an equalizer quickly in the first minute out of the intermission on a cross pass from the far left of the NSU goal. They would get the eventual game-winner in the 59th minute on their second penalty kick goal of the season.
NSU would have a 12-to-8 edge on shots and couldn't capitalize on eight corner kicks.
Flynn Semmerling was credited with the assist on Martinez's goal, and it was his fourth of the year.
Rogers State improves to 6-3-5 (4-1-3 GAC/MIAA) with its fourth home win over NSU.
The RiverHawks will play the next three contests at DeLoache Field, starting with Harding on Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
