sHAYS, Kan. – Northeastern State's defense limited Fort Hays State to one shot on-goal Friday evening as they played to a scoreless draw.
Despite the tie, the RiverHawks would earn an important conference point against the undefeated Tigers as they move 1-2-3 in the MIAA and are 4-2-7 overall.
Northeastern State had three shots in each half and four shots on goal. Fort Hays State had a 3-to-2 edge on corners as they moved to 8-0-5 (3-0-3 MIAA).
Ainsley Cunningham earned her second consecutive shutout and fifth of the season in the Friday effort.
The scoreless draw is the third of the season for the RiverHawks and the first tie in the series history between the two programs.
Northeastern State heads to Nebraska-Kearney Sunday for a noon meeting with the Lopers.
