RiverHawks shutout Lopers, 2-0

KEARNEY, Neb. – Northeastern State found the win column at Nebraska-Kearney for the first time since 2013 in a 2-nil shutout Sunday afternoon.

The RiverHawks held a team scoreless for the eighth time this season as they improved to 5-2-7 overall and 2-2-3 in MIAA play.

Both Whitney Gentry and Eileen Jeschke earned their first career goals Sunday for NSU in the win.  Gentry had hers off a header just in front of the right side of the goal in the 13th minute.  Lauren Parton and Myka Heimbach were credited with the assist.

Jeschke nailed hers from 22 yards out in the 67th minute on a kick that sailed over the UNK keeper's reach on the top left of the goal.  Hayley Garcia earned her second assist of the year with the pass to Jeschke.

Rebecca Partyka had three saves and earned the shutout at goal.

Sunday's trek is the longest of the regular season for NSU as the Lopers suffered its fourth consecutive shutout and fell to 0-11-3 (0-5-2 MIAA).
