BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Northeastern State slugged four homers and held off a late Upper Iowa run to win 10-8 on Sunday evening.
Chloe Bohuslavicky hit her fourth homer of the season,
Sydney Balderrama,
Carly Kelley, and
Rhomie Bradshaw all went yard as the RiverHawks finished the weekend with a split and moved to 5-3 overall.
Kelley had a two-hit game and four RBI;
Alyssia Crick scored three runs, with Northeastern State scoring seven runs in the opening three innings.
The Peacocks scored a pair in the third and fourth inning to cut the NSU lead down to three. Kelley hit an RBI single in the fifth for the team's eighth run.
Upper Iowa pulled in within one with an NSU error opening the door for three unearned runs.
Bohuslavicky homered in the sixth, and Balderrama left the yard in the seventh to make it a 10-7 game.
Errors plagued NSU in the seventh, allowing a fourth unearned run.
Savannah Evans came in to record the final two outs for the win with the tying run at the plate.
Gail Young (3-1) recorded the win going 3 1/3 and striking out four.
The RiverHawks will be back in action in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area with upcoming Friday.
