EDMOND – Northeastern State out-hit Oklahoma Baptist, but four errors haunted the RiverHawks in a 9-7 loss Friday afternoon.
Rhomie Bradshaw,
Chloe Bohuslavicky, and
Delaney Mills all had two-hit games. Bohuslavicky and
Raegan Edwards plated a pair of RBI the RiverHawks' offense.
An outfield error with one out in third opened the door for OBU to smash a three-run shot to take a 6-1 lead over the RiverHawks.
The run difference off the error ended up being the difference Friday for NSU, who had to crawl out of the five-run deficit. Northeastern State grabbed three runs back in the fourth, battling through their order.
The momentum was short-lived, and the Bison hit an RBI double and splashed its second three-run shot of the game to grab a 9-4 lead on the RiverHawks.
NSU continued to chase Oklahoma Baptist, with Mills hitting an RBI single and scoring two off a hit by pitch to get back within a pair. In the sixth, NSU got the tying run on first but left both runners stranded and went down in order in the final frame.
Oklahoma Baptist improves to 7-3 with the win, while NSU falls to 5-4.
The RiverHawks will return to action Saturday with games against Chadron State and Oklahoma Christian.
