BENTONVILLE, Ark. – After having an unexpected day off due to cold weather, Northeastern State, behind a two-hitter from
Savannah Evans, shut down No. 16 Southern Arkansas, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Evans fanned nine batters and didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning for her first win in an NSU uniform.
Chloe Bohuslavicky homered in the second inning, and it was the RiverHawks' lone hit until the sixth.
Alyssia Crick came in a pinch hitter and led the frame off with a single. Playing small ball, she moved into scoring position for
Raegan Edwards, who hit an RBI single. Bohuslavicky followed up with an RBI double, scoring Edwards on the play.
The RiverHawks improved to 4-3 with the win over the Muleriders who slipped to 4-6 overall.
