ARLINGTON, Texas – NSU women's tennis will return home with its second consecutive Texas setback, dropping a 6-1 match against Dallas Baptist Saturday.
Maria Popova claimed the RiverHawks lone point at the top singles spot, winning 6-3, 6-3.
The RiverHawks would come up short in two singles matching, falling in a third-set tiebreaker.
"Another tough one to drop against a really solid DBU team today," said head coach
Tim McLane. "We're doing a nice job of hanging around and competing but we've got to avoid putting ourselves in a hole throughout the matches. We've got a few things to tighten up so that we can pull these kinds of matches out, but I'm confident we'll get there."
Dallas Baptist (6-3) split their matches on Saturday, playing Harding in the morning before facing NSU.
Northeastern State moves to 3-2 overall with the loss; they will return home to host Angelo State on Friday afternoon.
