TAHLEQUAH –
Emilia Cosatto won her fourth match this spring has Northeastern State would fall 6-1 to No. 20 Angelo State Sunday.
Cosatto claimed a 6-2, 7-6 (1) win on court two, with the RiverHawks coming up short in a pair of three-set seconds matches.
"I'm really happy with the way we competed today," said head coach
Tim McLane. "We absolutely had chances to take a lead all throughout the match, but we've got to do a better job of capitalizing on those opportunities when we get them, especially when playing a good top 20 team like Angelo State."
"We've got to improve our doubles, and a lot of that is on me; we'll get it squared away, but a lot of positives for us to take away even after dropping a tight match."
Cosatto and
Belinda Jayaprakash won 6-2 on court three in doubles after the Rambelles claimed the doubles point.
The RiverHawks slip to 3-3 overall, while Angelo State improves to 4-1.
Northeastern State heads next to Midwestern State for a match on Saturday at 3 p.m.
