Alyssia Crick hit two home runs, and
Rhomie Bradshaw had four hits but it was not enough as Northeastern State fell 9-6 to Southern Nazarene here Sunday afternoon.
NSU now sits at 7-6 on the year as SNU improves to 3-10.
The RiverHawks opened the scoring in the second inning as
Sydney Balderrama singled and scored on the two-run bomb from Crick for a 2-0 advantage.Â
Carly Kelley pushed the lead to 3-0 after she tripled to right-center field and scored on a throwing error. With a solo blast in the fourth inning, Bradshaw increased the lead to 4-0.Â
Southern Nazarene rallied in the home half of the fourth, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 6-4 lead.
Raegan Edwards cut the lead to one at 6-5 in the fifth inning with a solo shot, but SNU pushed across three runs in the fifth for a 9-5 advantage.
Crick hit her second home run of the game; a solo shot to left-center cut the SNU lead to 9-6.
Savannah Evans (1-3) took the loss, giving up nine runs on eight hits in 4.1 innings of work.
Northeastern State will play its first home games of the 2022 campaign with four games at RiverHawks Park. Two games are on Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, and two more on Sunday at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
