TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State scored nine in the third inning to trounce Midwestern State state 10-2 in five innings Sunday in the RiverHawks' home opener.
Jaeden Rosenquist had three NSU's ten hits, and
Gail Young struck out three batters in four innings to move to 3-2 on the year.
After allowing a pair of runs in the second, the RiverHawks grabbed one back in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI double off the bat of
Rhomie Bradshaw.
In the third, the runs poured in for NSU, with 13 batters being sent to the plate.
Addy Wolfe hit a grand slam to left, and
Chloe Bohuslavicky cleared the bases on a double to center.
Northeastern State improved to 8-6 overall with the win; Midwestern State had four hits and fell to 1-9.
