EMPORIA, Kan. –
Seth Key tossed a no-hitter into the sixth inning as Northeastern State shutout Emporia State 4-0 Saturday in their MIAA opener.
Key needed 125 pitches, striking out ten and allowing only three hits to move to 4-0 on the hill this season.
All nine position players had a hit as the RiverHawks out-hit the Hornets 15-to-3.
Kademon Graff went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the ninth against his former squad.
Matt Kaiser hit his third homer in the eighth, scoring two for the RiverHawks.
Tucker Dunlap had an RBI infield single in the second.
The RiverHawks would leave 14 runners on-base and improve to 10-3 (1-0 MIAA).
Emporia State falls to 5-7 (0-1 MIAA) with the loss to NSU.
The series continues on Sunday with a 2 p.m. first pitch in Claremore.
