RiverHawks comes up short

CLAREMORE – A late rally fell short for the RiverHawks in a 3-2 loss Thursday afternoon at Rogers State.   Northeastern State out-hit the Hillcats 9-to-6 but left seven runners on base as they were swept in a doubleheader.

Rhomie Bradshaw and Sydney Balderrama had two hits for the RiverHawks as they slip to 12-10 (0-2 MIAA)

Three scoreless innings passed before NSU picked up a run off the bat of Raegan Edwards, who hit a fielder's choice scoring Savannah Evans in from third.  The Hillcats responded with three hits in the bottom half of the frame scoring three.

Northeastern State threatened with Grace Montgomery getting her first career hit in their final three outs, scoring Edwards in from third.  NSU would strikeout and fly out to end the game with the go-ahead run at the plate.

Rogers State improves to 20-2 (2-0 MIAA) with the sweep of the RiverHawks.

NSU will be on the road next week for an invitational hosted by Missouri Western in St. Joseph.
