BOLIVAR, Mo. — An early doubles point came back to haunt the RiverHawks in a 4-3 setback at Southwest Baptist Saturday.
The RiverHawks held leads in all three courts and won 6-0 on court three. They would lead 3-0 on the other two courts, but the Bearcats came back to take the point.
NSU would rally in singles, with
Emilia Cosatto taking a 6-1, 6-3 decision on court three and
Chiara Carnelutti winning 6-2, 6-2 on court six.
Alisha Moldakhmetova would claim NSU's third point, but it would be after SBU picked up its fourth point to win the match.
Saturday's setback is the fifth consecutive for the RiverHawks, who have dropped back-to-back 4-3 matches. They are now 3-5 on the season and will open MIAA play Friday at Central Oklahoma.
