Women's Tennis stops skid with sweep of Tabor

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State snapped a seven-match skid Saturday with its first sweep of the season in a non-conference 7-0 win over Tabor.

The RiverHawks played four singles players in first-time positions and swept doubles.

"Good job from everyone bouncing back after a tough match-up yesterday," said head coach Tim McLane. "We were short-handed yet again, but everyone did a really nice job of stepping up, most in positions they're not used to playing in and getting the job done."

Alisha Moldakhmetova highlighted the RiverHawks with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep playing the top-singles court for the first time. Irene Romero made her first appearance on the court this spring and won all but one game on court six.

Northeastern State improves to 4-7 overall, while Tabor drops to 5-4.

The RiverHawks return to the court Saturday to host Emporia State at 3 p.m.
