TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State suffered its fifth consecutive setback Thursday as they were swept by Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0.
The RiverHawks nearly took doubles, with
Vera Carvalho and
Alisha Moldakhmetova claiming a 6-2 win in the top spot. They couldn't find a second win with its number-three doubles team falling in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3).
Friday's setback drops the RiverHawks to 4-12 (0-5 MIAA). Neb.-Kearney, who came into the match ranked 42nd nationally, improved to 11-7 (4-2 MIAA).
Northeastern State closes its home slate Friday at 11 a.m. with Fort Hays State; the program will honor its six seniors before the match.
