NEWTON, Kan. – Northeastern State didn't make any headway on the leader board and remained in fifth place in the MIAA Championship, having a two-round total at 635 (314-321).
The RiverHawks are six back of second place. Still, the distance to the top spot grew with Nebraska-Kearney shooting the low-round for the second consecutive day and will head into Championship Saturday, holding a 15-stroke lead.
Wind gusts to over 40 miles per hour ballooned scoring across the field, with just one player turning in an even 72 on the course.
Kaylee Petersen slid up five spots and is tied for seventh place, shooting a 155 (77-78).
Nina Lee turned in an 82 and has a two-round total at 159,
Yasmin Hang (81-79) was one stroke behind her, tied for 21st place.
Marybeth Bellnap is 24th, carding an 82 Friday, and has a 161.
Aitana Hernandez was tied for 34th overall, shooting a 165 (82-85).
Northeastern State is 19 back of the leader, with Central Oklahoma in second, Central Missouri, and Rogers State rounding out the top-4.
The RiverHawks are paired with Fort Hays State and RSU for the final round Saturday where they will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
