HAYS, Kan. – Behind a three-home run game from
C.D. White, Northeastern State matched an NCAA era high with seven long balls in a 17-5 run-rule win Friday over Fort Hays State
White had five RBI and is one of seven NSU players since 1996 to have three homers in the same game, and is the second to do so this season, joining
Matt Kaiser.
The seven homers matched a program mark set last season against Newman.
No surprises,
Brock Reller set two over the fence for a six-RBI game, sending his season total to 17. With 14 games remaining in the regular season, he is just two off from matching the program mark.
Collin Klingensmith hit two out of the ballpark and had three-RBI.
All but one position player reached, with RiverHawks having 16 hits on the day.
Lee Callison (1-2) stuck out ten for his second consecutive outing and pitched into the seventh.
The RiverHawks have won five straight and own a 23-12 overall mark (12-9 MIAA).
Fort Hays State (3-30, 2-19 MIAA) was limited to six hits.
The two teams will square off again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
