Giani Mascarel scored his first career goal Wednesday evening as the RiverHawks played Dallas Baptist to a 1-1 road draw.
The Patriots held the RiverHawks scoreless through 77 minutes before Mascarel landed an unassisted goal to equalize the match.Â
Northeastern State moves to 1-1-1 on the season, with shots-on-goal even at eight apiece.Â
Dallas Baptist scored in the 13th minute and landed three shot attempts in the final two minutes in a late effort to win their first match of the year. Â The Patriots (0-0-3) instead finished with their third consecutive draw.
Miguel Torres led the RiverHawks with three shots on goal, and
Niklas Kirhoff had a career-high seven saves.Â
Wednesday's meeting is the first between the two programs.
The RiverHawks will return to Springfield, Mo., for the second time this season and will face Maryville (Mo.) in a neutral site contest Sunday at 3 p.m.
